Growing up it was always my dream to get married at the age of 25 to the love of my life and live happily ever after. I guess this dream materialized because I was a very avid reader of romantic novels and fairy-tales. Even though I knew these books were fiction, to me the stories seemed real and so every time I read, I would often visualize myself as the main male character/love-interest of the main female character.
I would become so lost in the stories that I would yearn to experience the kind of love and romance I was reading about. It was much later in my adult life that I learnt from experiences, that love and relationships in real life, doesn’t work the way it does in books and movies. To me, it became apparent that love, as portrayed in story land, was just a fairy-tale.
What is love really though? That I think is a question to which, when asked, will get many different answers, as every individual has their own interpretation of what love means to them, but does everyone deserve love? -Excerpt from my upcoming book....Everyone Deserves Love. Book #4
First off, I want to start by admitting that no, I’m not a love guru, or any kind of expert on love. In fact, I don’t even claim to understand love. Like so many people, I have been hurt so many times, that I got to a point in my life when I didn’t even want to see, or hear the word.
So, what makes me qualified to write this book about such a topic? The answer is, I’m not qualified. Not by a long shot and that’s why this isn’t a self-help, psychology, or textbook, about how to find and, or stay in love.
What I’m about to attempt to do is take you on a journey about my life and my struggles to find true love. My decision to write this book came about when my marriage fell apart and my friends, who knew of my life experiences said that I should write a book about my life, so after giving it lots of thought, and after a two week nervous breakdown, I started writing the first chapter.
What is it that I’m hoping you get from this book? It is my hope that those of you who do take the time to read it, will find encouragement and somehow believe that even if you don’t believe in love, even if you have lost hope in finding true love, even if you have given your all over and over, and your heart gets shattered every time, everyone deserves love. Even you.
